| 2. | Minimum 3.00/4.00 GPA from the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate work | ||
| 3. | Prior laboratory research experience | ||
| 4. | General Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Official Scores | ||
| a. | Official scores must be received by the University of Wisconsin Graduate School by December 15 of the year application is received | ||
| b. | GRE Subject test in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry & Molecular Biology is recommended, but not required | ||
| 5. | Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) Official Scores | ||
| a. | All applicants whose native language is not English OR whose undergraduate instruction was not in English | ||
| b. | IF TOEFL (paper-based) test score is below 580, OR computer-based (CBT) below 237: Must take an English assessment test upon arrival and register for an English as a Second Language (ESL) course(s) in the first semester | ||
| c. | Applicants are exempt from the TOEFL if: | ||
| - | Official language of instruction at the undergraduate level is English | ||
| - | Applicant holds a degree from an accredited American college/University | ||

Applicant has completed and received grades for 2 semesters of course work at an accredited American college/university |
