III. Orientation Advisor
-
Each student is assigned a faculty member who is his/her Orientation Advisor for the first semester (If students do not report a Focus Group, advisors are assigned based on past research experience)
-
The role of the Orientation Advisor is to offer guidance in the selection of courses and rotations, and to be available to discuss advisee concerns and questions during the fall semester
-
Each student is not required to participate in lab rotations exclusively within the Focus Group area of their advisor or within the Focus Group originally indicated
-
Students should feel free to consult any or all advisors to gain insight into the various Focus Groups, laboratories and courses
-
Assigned advisors will be introduced to incoming students on the first day of orientation
-
Students will schedule an appointment with their advisor during orientation week to talk with them at length about course selection and rotation possibilities
