As the capital of Wisconsin, Madison has a population of approximately 200,000. The city features an abundance of natural beauty complemented by many lakes, and is a cultural mecca offering arts, music, entertainment, sports and much more. The University of Wisconsin is situated next to Lake Mendota, which offers outdoor enthusiasts limitless opportunities. The upper end of State Street boasts the capitol square, a host of free art fairs, the farmers market and Madison Symphony Orchestra concerts in the summer.
